*About the Awards

The Coast Awards launched in 2007, in order to celebrate and support the seaside people and places best loved by readers of Coast.

During the past five years, the Awards have drummed up valuable publicity for coastal businesses and destinations in both the local and national media. For details of past years’ winners, see our website: coastmagazine.co.uk.

Joules Clothing, sponsors of the Coast Awards, first came on board in 2009, helping to make this annual event bigger and better – our first Awards Ceremony took place in 2010 at the Country Living Fair in London, hosted by Countryfile’s Julia Bradbury. Earlier this year, Autumnwatch presenter Michaela Strachan did the honours.

Since the very beginning, the judging panel for the Awards has attracted household names, such as Julia Bradbury; Coast presenters Nicholas Crane and Miranda Krestovnikoff; hotelier and TV presenter Ruth Watson, and the chefs Mitch Tonks and Galton Blackiston.

We are grateful for the contribution of all our expert judges over the years – and, of course, the thousands of votes cast by Coast readers.
